About us.
Challenger by Crusader was introduced as a series of engines under Pleasurecraft Engine Group.
Pleasurecraft Marine Engine Company was founded in 1975 in Canal Winchester, Ohio and quickly became known for building premium engines for the towsports industry. Pleasurecraft acquired Crusader Engines in 1998. The union created Pleasurecraft Engine Group which is now the leading manufacturer of gasoline inboards in the world.
With Pleasurecraft’s knowledge and history of building towsport specific engines, Crusader introduced the Challenger series of engines to build and offer a price point engine for the value-oriented customers looking for competition level towsports boats. Over the past decade, Challenger has earned its reputation in the towsports market as being a value-oriented engine, without sacrificing the durability and reliability that Crusader Engines has been known for over 60 years.
