PLEASURECRAFT ENGINE GROUP COMMISSIONS NEW STATE-OF-THE-ART DYNAMOMETER FACILITY

LITTLE MOUNTAIN, SC (June 4, 2018) — Pleasurecraft Engine Group has completed construction of a new dynamometer laboratory at their 140,000 square foot engineering and manufacturing facility in Little Mountain, SC.

This laboratory includes a workshop and test cells that house two SuperFlow dynamometers — an eddy-current electro brake and a water brake dynamometer. The eddy-current dynamometer is better suited for calibration, mapping, and emission work. The water brake dynamometer is better suited for coolant and durability tests. This will allow Pleasurecraft engineers to further improve upon the durability and reliability that Pleasurecraft engines are known for.

This dynamometer facility enables Pleasurecraft engineers to maximize each engine’s performance by precisely tuning custom calibrations and creating automated test profiles that closely simulate on-water conditions. The facility will provide increased validation of new components as well as give engineers the ability to run future products up to 1200 horsepower.

“We are excited to unveil this new dynamometer facility,” stated Mark McKinney, President of Pleasurecraft. “For decades we have brought numerous innovations to the watersports industry. This new facility shows our commitment to continued innovation, validation, and engineering excellence. We know that this new dynamometer facility will help pave the way for our engineers to develop future innovations in marine engine technology.”
